About the Project
GlobelNews is an immersive news portal that reimagines how people consume world news. Instead of a traditional feed, users interact with a rotating 3D globe where live stories are geo-pinned to the exact country or city they originate from. Clicking a pin opens the full article, bringing geography and current events together in a single fluid experience.
Key Features
- Interactive 3D globe with geo-pinned news markers — click any pin to read the full story
- Live news feed panel with real-time updates and category badges (Technology, Finance, Politics, Sports, Health, Entertainment)
- Real-time search bar to filter stories by keyword across all categories
- Live clock and date display with a LIVE indicator on the news stream
- Category filter bar for quick browsing across topic segments
- Multi-language support with EN/TR toggle and bilingual content
- Dark-first design optimised for immersive globe navigation
Technical Architecture
The frontend is built with React using Vite for ultra-fast HMR and build performance. The 3D globe is rendered with a WebGL-based library, providing smooth rotation and zoom interactions. The backend runs on Node.js with Express, supplying RESTful API endpoints for live news delivery, search, and category filtering, with Nodemon enabling rapid development iterations.
